A few things you may not know...

I would love to give this studio photo credit but I unfortunately I don't know the photographer.

I'm from Alabama.

I've lived in NY for almost 15 years now (which is crazy to me!) but I'm originally from the deep south. I visit often to see everyone (especially these two pictured here :)

I like being outdoors most of all.

I like being outside as much as possible. It doesn't really matter what I'm doing as long as I'm outside. However, 90% of the I'm wearing less than ideal footwear as shown above :)

This year I fostered kittens...

I fostered kittens this year through Little Wanderers NYC (https://littlewanderersnyc.org/). It was SO DIFFICULT but also I ended up a foster fail with a new cat, Raz, who I love so much. LWNYC is an incredible organization who helps every single cat regardless of cost, time, energy. If you can help them, please visit their website + donate. This is my favorite portrait of Raz :)

I was a nanny for many years in college + after + I loved it.

It was one of the most rewarding jobs and I cherish the people I met + the lessons I learned so much. I believe it's why wedding photography comes naturally to me... I've had lots of practice feeling like family for the day :)

I love live music.

I still love going to concerts + music festivals. I've been lucky to live in NY where there is always live music happening. I've seen many bands multiple times, one over 100 times (which is crazy that I ever had that much time :) I met tons of cool people going to so many shows and I've known some of those friends for over 10 years now. I've even photographed some of their weddings :)

I took a year long advanced photography mentorship in 2019.

It was easily the best decision I made for myself (thank you to Kirsten Lewis for being the greatest mentor). I traveled to Guadalajara to document a female rodeo group, did monthly projects + long critiques, and met some incredibly talented photographers. It was a lot of tough but very creative work and I'm grateful for the experience.

“I found that the camera was a comforting companion. It opened up new worlds, and gave me access to people's most intimate moments. I discovered the privilege of seeing life in all its complexity, the thrill of learning something new everyday. When I was behind a camera, it was the only place in the world I wanted to be.”

“"It's always been my philosophy to try to make art out of the everyday and ordinary..."”
